Punkhorn Parklands - Joint Meeting of Brewster Select Board/Conservation Commission/Water Commission

A joint meeting with the Select Board, Water Commission, and Conservation Commission will be held at 6.00 pm on Tuesday, November 22nd to discuss the Massachusetts Attorney General’s approval of Article 18, which was adopted at the May 2022 Annual Town Meeting. Under Article 18 the Town voted to amend the general by-laws to add a new Chapter 98, “Hunting in the Punkhorn Parklands” that prohibits hunting in the Punkhorn Parklands except for bow hunting during the three-week period beginning on the first Monday in December of each year. In addition, the new Chapter 98 prohibits the discharge of firearms in the Punkhorns. 

The Select Board, Water Commission, and Conservation Commission have care and custody of the Punkhorn Parklands and will be meeting to discuss and coordinate the implementation of these changes next month and education of residents and hunters about this new bylaw.
